As my checking and walking 3 days on Canton Fair, Maybe my idea is not right , maybe right:

question 1. :

Labours difficult to find.

question 2.

Raw Material shortening Supply.

question 3.

The fittings can’t supply in Time.

question 4.

Efficiency decrease cause the labour do not wanna to earn the money as before with do not consider the healthy.

the question 1 problem have some below reasons:

a) people have more choice compare before with the economic developing, original , people have no choice but only come to factory for earn money.

But now, people can find a job very easy, such for the third party service company.

b), the whole market , labour becoming shortening supply, cause the born limited policy.

c) labour know more, and learn more, they wanna to change, so a lot of labours wanna to find a better, they are in a way to find a better one.

for the question 2.

Cause some company and government limited sales for get more profit.

for the question 3.

As the whole market labour shortening supply, so the small factories which produce the fittings for big company have the problem for hold the labours, as the small factory can’t compare with the big company.

For the question 4.

people becoming focus some eyes on health not only on money. some times, maybe they only wanna earlier USD200.00 instead of USD400.00 if they needs to pay more times. people needs their leisure time.

The previous exhibition in 2003 consisted of almost 800 companies from 80 nations converging on Galicia to do business. Over 70,000 world wide professionals attended that show spending an estimated EUR 400 million.

The World Fishing Exhibition has its own history. Celebrated for the first time in 1963 in the United Kingdom as a biannual event, the first four shows were held at the famous Earl’s Court and Olympia Hall. Fishing is Vigo’s Alma Mater and this has given life to a vast industry in the town which includes shipyards, ancillary industries, commerce and distribution, cold storage, canning factories, fish products and marine cultivars.

TOOLEE would like introduce you some types of swaging sleeves:

Oval sleeves

Oval sleeves are an ideal way for making a neat, strong eye splice in a matter of seconds without frayed cable ends (use a stainless thimble). For eye splices, one stainless oval sleeve will hold full rated cable strength on 7 x 7 or 7 x 19 cable. On 1 x 19 we recommend using two stainless oval sleeves on each end to hold full rated strength . The copper sleeves hold almost at full cable strength; to be conservative estimate about 80%. Again, use 2 sleeves on 1 x 19 wire. Aluminum swage sleeves (It is also called aluminium ferrules)  will only hold about one half the cable strength – Don’t use in the marine environment. Crimping of sleeve must be done with a oval swage sleeve tool or the “Swage-It” tool, to insure maximum holding power. We also carry stainless steel sleeves (stainless is not for hand swaging). The copper stop sleeves are for designed for the end of the wire rope (single wire inserted) and provide a stop when crimped on.

s-505 & s-506

S-505 Standard Sleeves (in carbon steel) are recommended for use with 6 x19 or 6 x 37, IPS or XIP, XXIP (EIP), RRL, FC or IWRC wire rope. S-505 & s-506 is used for For Flemish eye wire rope splicing. Resists cracking when swaged (equals or exceeds stainless steel sleeves). Can be stamped for identification after swaging without concern for fractures when following these directions.Use round corner stamps to a maximum depth of 0.015 in. (1/64). The area for stamping should be on the side of the sleeve in the plane of the sling eye, and no less than 0.250 in. (1/4 ) from either end of the sleeve.

Standard Steel Sleeve terminations have efficiency ratingsas follows based on the catalog strength of wire rope.

The original T-ferrule design is the seamless aluminium ferrule, intended for galvanized or bright wire ropes. It corresponds to European standard, EN 13411-3. From size 8 and upwards fully traceable (ISO 9001) and marked with size, type and manufacturing batch number.

The UM-ferrule (Ultagrip Metal) is a cylindrical ferrule, smaller in diameter after pressing than the T-ferrule.

• The shackle pin shall never be replaced with a bolt; only a properly fitted pin shall be used. Bolts are not intended to take the load that is normally applied to the pin.

• Shackles shall not be used if the pin cannot be completely seated.
• Shackles shall never be pulled at an angle because the capacity will be tremendously reduced. Centralize whatever is being hoisted on the pin by suitable washers or spacers .

• Screw pin shackles shall not be used if the pin can roll under load and unscrew.

Shackles

are U-shaped pieces of metal secured with a pin or bolt across the opening, or hinged metal loops that are secured with a quick-release locking mechanism. There are three basic types of shackles. All meet or exceed U.S. Federal Specification RRC-271D,

“Chains and Attachments: Welded and Weldless”, and are made of alloy steel or carbon steel. They are available in painted, galvanized or self-colored finishes and use quenched or tempered pins. Class 1 shackles pass a rounded pin through holes at the base of the shackle.

A spring-actuated cotter pin or hair pin holds the butt end of the shackle in place. Class 2 shackles use screw-pins that pass through an opening on one only side of the shackle. The pins use a key-like design and exhibit extreme deformation before failure.

Class 3 shackles have safety anchors or chains that are held in place with a nut and bolt on opposite ends of the pin. Shackles that meet Amendment 1 to Federal Specification RRC-271D are also available.

Selecting shackles requires an analysis of specifications and features. Dimensional specifications include: pin or bolt diameter, hole diameter, width at eyes, width at bow, width between eyes, inside length, inside width at bow, outside diameter (OD) of eye, approximate weight, and estimated weight per hundred.

Some shackles use English measurements such as inches (in) or fraction of inches. Others are measured in metric units such as centimeters (cm) or millimeters (mm). Performance specifications for shackles include working load limit (WLL), an amount that is usually measured in tons.

Specialized shackles may carry additional specifications or provide optional features. For example, stainless steel screw-pin anchor shackles provide improved corrosion and chemical resistance.

Trawling shackles have heat-treated bodies and square headed pins that facilitate tightening and loosening.

Web sling shackles may be hot-dip galvanized or zinc-plated, and provide an ultimate strength equal to four times the working load limit.

• Never return damaged shackles to storage. They should be dry, clean and protected from corrosion.

 

• Do not alter, modify or repair shackles and never replace missing pins with unidentified pins, bolts etc, but refer such matters to a Competent Person.
• Never galvanise or subject a shackle to other plating processes without the approval of the supplier.

 

Selecting turnbuckles requires an analysis of product and performance specifications.In order to check the quality is good or not, Firstly you should pay attention to the surface, it should be smooth and sleek. Secondly, check the size of turnbuckles. Basic measurements include diameter, take up, length, and estimated weight. The last but not the least , you must accord the application decide which type turnbuckle you should choose. If only these there points are up to standard, we can asure the turnbuckle is good and use it assured.

• Do not replace the shackle pin with a bolt . A load will bend the bolt.   

•  Do not allow a shackle to be pulled at an angle. The legs will open. Pack the pin with washers to center the shackle.

•  Do not use screw pin shackles if the pin can roll and unscrew. If the load shifts, the sling will unscrew the shackle pin.

This is the basic situation which you should avoid , understand it ,you can use it better.

(1)    hooks of different types should be used only for their intend purpose.e.g. foundry hook has a wide, deep throat to fit for handles on molds and castings; Grab hook has a narrow throat and is used to hold a length of chain by engaging one link flat in the hook between two other chain links; The sorting hook has a point designed to fit into holes. Some choker slings are fitted with a sliding choker hook that engages the eye of the sling.

(2)    The weight of the load to be lifted should not exceed the rate load of the hook or of the hoist equipment or sling assembly of which the hook is a component.

(3)    Loads applied to hooks should be centered in the hook saddle—not on the point of the hook

(4)    Shock loading, such as sudden, jerky lifting of the load, should be avoided.

(5)    If you use a latch or other device to close the throat of a hook, be careful not to apply the load to the closing device.

(6)    Take care to keep hands, fingers, and body from between the hook and the load.

2.       hooks should be inspected frequently and periodically. Frequent inspections are visual examinations the operator should make every day before using the equipment. Periodic inspections should be conducted at regular intervals by specially designated inspectors. The length of inspector intervals depends uopn the type of hook service. Records shoule be maintained as a basis for continuing evaluation.

3.       the  followiing are some of the reasons for removing a hook from service and replcing it:

(1)    hook throat has increased by more than 15%.

(2)    Wear exceeds 10% of the original hook section dimension, or there is a bend or twist of more than 10°from the plane of the unbent hook.

(3)    Hook shows cracks, excessive nicks, or gouges. These damages can sometimes be repaired by filing along the hook contour. The hook can not be reused, however, if the filing reduces any dimension by more than 10% of its original value.

(4)    The portions that form the throat of a grab hook are not parallel.

4.       twist or increase in throat opening is often an indication of abuse or overload of the equipment. In such instances, other components of the sling or hoisting mechanism should also be inspected for damage.

• Store and handle shackles correctly.

• Inspect shackles before use and before placing into storage.

• Select the correct pattern of shackle and pin for the application.

• Allow for the full resultant imposed load.

• Fully tighten the pin.

• Ensure the load acts through the centre line of the shackle using spacers if necessary to meet this requirement.

NEVER:

• Use shackles with bent pins or deformed bodies.

• Force, hammer or wedge shackles into position.

• Eccentrically load shackles.

• Replace the pin with a bolt.

• Fit pins in contact with moving parts which may loosen or unscrew them.

• Shock load shackles.

●     Chain slings must not be heat treated, galvanized, plated, coated or subjected to any process involving heating or pickling. Each of these processes can have dangerous effects, reducing the strength of the chain and will invalidate the manufacturers certification.

●     Chain slings may be used at temperatures between -40°F to 400°F (-40°c to 205°c) with no reduction in the working load limit.

●     When using slings in exceptionally hazardous conditions such as lifting of potentially dangerous loads, including molten metals and corrosive or fissile material, the degree of hazard should be addressed by a competent person and the working load limit adjusted downward accordingly.

●     Never attempt to repair a damaged sling, replace it immediately. Damaged slings may be repaired only on the advice of the chain sling manufacturer and returned to service only after complete inspection and proof testing.

A sliding link is fitted on a bearing and guide column forming part of the sledge. The sliding link consists of an inner hollow cylinder and an outer hollow cylinder coaxial therewith. The rammer is coupled to the sledge via holding arms fitted on the outer hollow cylinder. When the sledge is taken into the horizontal position, the weight of the rammer imposes considerable moments on the sliding link. Thus immense tensile forces are applied to the upper sliding links and tremendous pressure to the lower sliding link. The tensile forces are absorbed by the engagement over the centre line in region. Likewise, the pressures are absorbed in region of the lower sliding links. The leverages can amount to several thousand kpm. The sliding link ensures that the tensile and pressure forces are properly controlled.

a log hook comprises a main body in an inverted U-shape configuration forming two legs. The first leg has a handle at its distal end, and the second leg has a hook element at its distal end. There is a bridge portion formed between adjacent ends of the two legs. The bridge has cutting blades attached at a predetermined position, provided to sever branches from a tree trunk. The blades extend along the outer and/or the inner edge the bridge portion. The inner edge blade can extend continuously along the bridge portion and the first leg. Cutting blades can be attachably mounted on existing log hooks with an attachment bracket. The hook element is attachably mounted to the distal end of the second leg with a fastening element.

Wire rope assemblies

We have some introduction to wire rope in recent days, today we will introduce you Wire rope assemblies, hope that will do some favor to you.

Because the end of a wire rope cannot be easily connected to plant and equipment. There are different ways of securing the ends of wire ropes to prevent fraying. The most common and useful type of end fitting for a wire rope is to turn the end back to form a loop. The loose end is then fixed back on the wire rope. Then a wire rope thimble is used.When the wire rope is terminated with a loop, there is a risk that it will bend too tightly, especially when the loop is connected to a device that spreads the load over a relatively small area. A thimble can be installed inside the loop to preserve the natural shape of the loop, and protect the cable from pinching and abrading on the inside of the loop. The use of thimbles in loops is industry best practice. The thimble prevents the load from coming into direct contact with the wires.

A wire rope clamp, also called a clip, is used to fix the loose end of the loop back to the wire rope. It usually consists of a u-shaped bolt, a forged saddle and two nuts. The two layers of wire rope are placed in the u-bolt. The saddle is then fitted over the ropes on to the bolt (the saddle includes two holes to fit to the u-bolt). The nuts secure the arrangement in place. Three or more clamps are usually used to terminate a wire rope. There is an old adage which has over time become the rule; when installing the three clamps to secure the loop at the end of your wire rope make sure you do not “Saddle a Dead Horse!” The saddle portion of the clamp assembly is placed and tightened on the opposite side of the terminal end of the cable.

A twist shackle is usually somewhat longer than the average, and features a 90° twist so the top of the loop is perpendicular to the pin. One of the uses for this shackle include attaching the jib halyard block to the mast, or the jib halyard to the sail, to reduce twist on the luff and allow the sail to set better.

Bow shackle with a larger “O” shape to the loop, this shackle can take loads from many directions without developing as much side load. However, the larger shape to the loop does reduce its overall strength. Also referred to as an anchor shackle.

Lay means the direction in which the wires and strands are twisted around the rope.

Left and right hand lay

Left hand lay or right hand lay describe the manner in which the strands are laid to form the rope. To determine the lay of strands in the rope, a viewer looks at the rope as it points away from them. If the strands appear to turn in a clockwise direction, or like a right-hand thread, as the strands progress away from the viewer, the rope has a right hand lay. If the strands appear to turn in an anti-clockwise direction, or like a left-hand thread, as the strands progress away from the viewer, the rope has a left hand lay.

Ordinary, Lang’s and alternate lay

Ordinary and Lang’s lay describe the manner in which the wires are laid to form a strand of the wire rope. To determine which has been used first identify if left or right hand lay has been used to make the rope. Then identify if a right or left hand lay has been used to twist the wires in each strand.

D-shackle also known as a chain shackle, D-shackles are narrow shackles shaped like a loop of chain, usually with a pin or threaded pin closure. D-shackles are very common and most other shackle types are a variation of the D-shackle. The small loop can take high loads primarily in line. Side and racking loads may twist or bend a D-shackle.

The basic unit is the wire, which is formed into strands.

Various types of wire rope have been designed to meet a wide range of uses and operating conditions. These types are designated by the kind of core; the number of strands; the number, sizes and arrangement of the wires in each strand; and the way in which the wires and strands are wound, or laid, about each other. E.g. wire rope 6×19+fc, “6”means Number of strands that make up the rope, “9”means Number of wires that make up each strand, and “fc” means Fibre core(see picture below)

As lashing or lifting point connecting with other rigging fittings, It is also called Non-lockable bottom stacking cone or stacking peg, and in marine products, it is often called lashing eye.

A lashing eye for lashing or tying down goods on freight vehicles includes a keeper cup(bracket/plate) with a lashing or fastening ring pivotably mounted therein and a bolt fixing, the bolt of which passes through the cup. The ring and cup are made as separate parts. The ringis removably mounted in a recess  made in the cup, said recess being open, at least on one side, and situated at one side of the bolt of the bolt fixing. The ring is kept in place in its recess by the bolt fixing. The cup and ring preferably are two separate parts made as castings.

Grab hooks and slip/sling hooks are manufactured with two types of ends: the clevis type end and the eye type end. The clevis type end has a pin that slips through the chain and the top of the hook to make the attachment to the chain. The eye type end is attched to the chain by welded link or a connecting link. Each type of end has the same strength rating, when properly insalled and matched to the chain.

The grab hook is designed to hook onto a matched chain between the links. It is normaly attached to the master link, connected to the ends of the chain, or joined to another grab hook with a short piece of chain. Two grab hooks can be used to connect two separate pieces of chain. The grab hook is commonly used to hook back into the chain between the links after wrapping an object, to connect separate pieces of chain, and to permit the rescuer to shorten the chain by hooking back to the grab hook.

SLIP HOOK

The slip/sling hook

is designed with a wider throat, which is the space between the tip and the back of the hook, than the grab hook. This allows items such as webbing, chain, master links, or shackles to be placed on the hook do not slip out when there is no weight holding them in place. The grab hook does need a safety catch.

Turnbuckles should be inspected before use to ensure that:

1) all markings are legible

2) the threads of the pin and the body are undamaged

3) the body and the pin are not distorted or unduly worn

4) never modify,repair or reshap a turnbuckle by heating as this will affect the working load limit.

For all types of turnbuckles, there are several basic configurations: stub end, eye and eye, hook and hook, jaw and jaw, and jaw and eye. Stub end turnbuckles feature a steel rod that protrudes at both ends. Eye and eye turnbuckles have two circular or oval-shaped eyes. Hook and hook turnbuckles and jaw and jaw turnbuckles have either two hooks or two jaws, respectively. Jaw and eye turnbuckles are designed for specialized applications.

Sorting hook must be used in proper way, Please ensure that sorting hook should only be used for lifting of loose pipes by hooking on both ends of the pipes. (see picture 1 as below)

It has been observed that the sorting hook has been wrongly used to perform normal lifting operations (refer to Picture 2 as below). Please be reminded  that sorting hook shall not be used for such  lifting operations. This unsafe practice may result in equipment failure which can lead to serious injuries and damage to equipment.

Chains are usually made in one of two styles, according to their intended use:

Those designed for lifting, such as when used with a hoist; for pulling; or for securing, such as with a bicycle lock, have links that are torus shaped, which makes the chain flexible in two dimensions.

Those designed for transferring power in machines have links designed to mesh with the teeth of the sprockets of the machine, and are flexible in only one dimension. They are known as Roller chains, though there are also non-roller chains such as block chain

At the thumb screw end, the elasticity of the shackle’s body locks the pin’s position into one or other of its small indentations. There is no need to worry about it accidentally coming loose due to vibrations.

Not only are these self-locking, the pin is also connected to the body at all times, even when fully opened. Consequently, there is no more risk of seeing it fall in the water, which would make the shackle unusable. These shackles can therefore be fitted completely safety using just one hand.

Closing these threadless shackles is done simply by rotating the pin half a done simply by rotating the pin half a turn: it doesn’t get much quicker? For major loads, there are also high-resistance versions.

Here we give you a few safety tips about using lever load binder:

●Never exceed the Working Load Limit.

●In releasing lever type binders, be sure no one is positioned to be struck by the handle which may release suddenly.
●If there is a possibility for a relaxation of the chain when the binder is in the locked or “over center” position, the handle should be secured to the binding chain by securely wrapping the loose end of the chain around the handle. 1.      always inspect hook and latch before using.

2.      never use a latch that is distorted or bent

3.      always make sure spring will force the latch against the tip of the hook

4.      always make sure hook supports the load. The latch must never support the load.

5.      when placing 2 sling legs in hook, make sure the angle between the legs is less than 90°and if the hook or load is titled, nothing bears against the bottom of this latch.

6.      latches are inended to retain any loose sling or devices under slack conditions.

7.      latches are not intended to be an anti-fouling device.

8.      when using a latch for personal lifting, select proper cotton pin.

·never reuse a bent cotter pin

·never use a cotter pin with a smaller diameter or different length than recommended.

·never use a nail, a welding rod, wire, etc., in place of a cotter pin.

·always ensure cotter pin is bent so as not to interfere with sling operation.

·periodically inspect cotter pin for corrosion and general adequacy.

The snap shackle is not as secure as any other form of shackle, but can come in handy for temporary uses or in situations which must be moved or replaced often, such as a sailor’s harness tether.

Ensure that the pin is correctly screwed into the shackle eye, i.e. tighten finger tight, then lock using a small tommy bar or suitable tool so that the collar of the pin is fully seated on the shackle eye.
Ensure that the pin is of the correct length so that it penetrates the full depth of the screwed eye and allows the collar of the pin to bed on the surface of the shackle eye.

Incorrect seating of the pin may be due to a bent pin, too tight fitting thread or misalignment of pin holes.
Do not use the shackle under these circumstances, but refer the matter to a competent person.
Never replace a shackle pin with a bolt, other than one designed for the purpose, as it may not be suitable for the loads imposed.
It is important in the case of shackles fitted with a bolt, nut and split cotter pin that the length of the plain portion of the bolt is such that the nut will jam on the inner end of the thread or on the eyes of the shackle, and that the rivet on the bolt is cross drilled for a split cotter pin.
Never use a bolt type shackle in operation without using a split cotter pin.

It is required that the shackles be regularly inspected and that such inspection should take place as a minimum in accordance with the standards given in the country and all relevant requirements of the Rigging Code of Practice. This is neccessary, because the products in use may be affected by wear, misuse or overloading with resulting deformation and alteration of steel structure.

Special the exchange EUR/RMB, from the begain with EUR/RMB=11.10 The topest of the Year. But during Nov. the bottom is EUR/RMB=8.5, how is the range? 24%!!!

At the thumb screw end, the elasticity of the shackle’s body locks the pin’s position into one or other of its small indentations. There is no need to worry about it accidentally coming loose due to vibrations.

Not only are these self-locking, the pin is also connected to the body at all times, even when fully opened. Consequently, there is no more risk of seeing it fall in the water, which would make the shackle unusable. These shackles can therefore be fitted completely safety using just one hand.

Steel strip can be hot-dip galvanized in a continuous line. Hot-dip galvanized steel strip (also sometimes loosely referred to as galvanized iron) is extensively used for applications requiring the strength of steel and resistance to corrosion. Applications include: roofing and walling, safety barriers, handrails, consumer appliances and automotive body parts. One common use is in metal pails. They are also used in most heating and cooling duct systems in buildings

Individual metal articles, such as steel girders or wrought iron gates, can be hot-dip galvanized by a process called batch galvanizing. Other modern techniques have largely replaced hot-dip for these sorts of roles. This includes electrogalvanizing, which deposits the layer of zinc from an aqueous electrolyte by electroplating, forming a thinner and much stronger bond.

ALWAYS USE THE LARGEST DIAMETER!!!

Wire Rope is always measured across the largest diameter that will fit inside a true circle. Wire Rope is always made larger, not smaller, than the nominal diameter. However, wear tends to reduce rope diameter. The allowable tolerances for new Type N wire rope, 3/4″ diameter, is 1/32″ oversize. In standard practice, the nominal diameter is the minimum diameter. A rope is not considered oversized until its diameter exceeds 1/32″ oversize.

Turnbuckles serve as a load-rated tensioning and leveling device. For tensioning, one end always comes with a reversed thread so that when it is placed into service between two objects in its fully extended position, the housing may be rotated back to shorten the overall component, pulling the threaded arms in and putting additional tension into the system, such as between two anchored wire rope assemblies. Turnbuckles are also employed as leveling devices to bring overhead truss and grids into a level attitude. Its eye fittings accommodate shackles, quicklinks, etc.

The screw pin version of shackle is ideal for the joining of two closed-end items together, such as wire rope assemblies, turnbuckles and eyebolts. The small hole in its pin offers a back up safety feature by securing a wire or cable tie through the holes and around the body of the shackle. This prevents the pin from loosening through vibration and is known as “mousing” the shackle. Material of Commercial Eye Screw Din and Eye Nut Din are Forged steel anealed, C1015,but G80 Eye Screw and G80 Eye Nut are made of Forged Alloy Steel, heat Treated. They have the different workmanship .Although  the size is same with each other ,but the effect is different .For example:         

 G80 Eye Screw and G80 Eye Nut ,the WLL of M10 is 1T.    Commercial Eye Screw Din and Eye Nut Din ,the WLL of M10 is 0.23T.

They are used for lifting , but they have the different effect .Maybe you can try to use the G80 Eye Screw and G80 Eye Nut .

There are two standard grades for lifting chain. Grade 80 chain is made from alloyed steel and designed specifically for overhead lifting. It has a good strength-to-weight ratio and excellent durability. Grade 100 chain is also made of alloyed steel, but is hardened and tempered for superior durability and fatigue resistance. Most Grade 100 chain is made of Herc-Alloy 800, a heat-treated alloy with very high strength. Although many types of chain fittings are available, Grade 80 fittings should not be used with Grade 100 chain. At present TOOLEE GROUP only supply the grade 80 lifting chain

Selecting lifting chain requires an analysis of performance specifications. Chain size is measured in inches (in.) or millimeters (mm). Common sizes include 7/32 in. (5.5 mm), 9/32 in. (7.0 mm), 5/16 (8.0 mm), 3/8 (10.0 mm), 1/2 in. (13.0 mm), 5/8 in. (16.00 mm), 3/4 in. (20.0 mm), 7/8 in. (26 mm), and 1 1/4 in. (32.0 mm).

Nominal dimensions include inside length and inside width. The approximate number of links per foot (ft.) and the approximate weight (lbs.) per 100 ft. are also important considerations.

Working load limit and rated capacity vary with the angle of use and the number of chains used in a sling. For example, a single 5.5 mm lifting chain may be rated for 2100 lbs. at 90 degrees. A double 5.5 mm lifting chain may be rated for 60, 45, or 30 degree use with working loads of 3600, 3000 and 2100 lbs., respectively.

Lifting chain should meet requirements from organizations such as the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) and the International Standards Organization (ISO).

Working load limits for Grade 80 lifting chain are based on a 4 to 1 design factor from ISO.

Shackles have 3 Types for the pin: Round Pin,Screw pin and Bolt Type(safety pin & nut).

The Round Pin Shackles can be used in tie down, towing, suspension or lifting applications where the load is strictly applied in-line.

The Screw pin Shackles can be used in any application where a round pin shackle is used.  In addition, screw pin shackles can be used for applications involving side-loading circumstances.  Reduced working load limits are required for side-loading applications.  While in service, do not allow the screw pin to be rotated by a live line, such as a choker application.

The Bolt Type Shackles can be used in any applications where round pin or screw pin shackles are used. In addition, they are recommended for permanent or long term installations and where the load may slide on the shackle pin causing the pin to rotate.

Working Load Limit and Traceability codes shown as permanent marking on body or pin, for lifting shackle and trawling shackle, the commercial only mark the size.

Regarding the exchange rate EUR/RMB, within 50 days, the number from 10.7 to 9.5 and then back to 10.05.  What it means?

Cause all of our profit calculated by RMB, for example if our profit is EUR1000.00, calculated by RMB

1070(EUR/RMB=10.7)

950(EUR/RMB=950)

1005(EUR/RMB=10.05)

If we confirm the order with EUR/RMB=10.7, and 30 days later when we get your payment with EUR10000.00, if EUR/RMB=9.5, then we will lost RMB=107000(10.7*10000)-95000(9.5*10000)=12000

That’s 11.2%, We can’t burden so big range.

During the last one year, USD/RMB from 7.2 to today’s 6.79, and the EUR/RMB FROM 10.3 TO 11.10 and then back to 9.5, and these days, EUR/RMB back to 10.04.

But please noted, the USD/RMB around 6.8 for about 60 days at least, at the same time, the EUR/RMB from 10.7 to 9.5 and then back to 10.00, It looks like the EUR becoming stronger again.

Reasons as below:

Most industrial hooks are forged from alloy steel, carbon steel, or stainless steel and then heat treated, quenched, and/or tempered.

They are then painted, self-colored, or finished with yellow chromate or bright zinc. Painted hooks come in colors such as red, blue, yellow, brown, and orange. Galvanized hooks are treated with zinc to provide corrosion resistance.

They have a silverfish appearance and are designed for outdoor or marine applications. Some hooks are embossed with information such as chain grade, fractional size, and country of origin for traceability purpose. For example, clevis hooks and grab hooks may be rated for Grade 43, Grade 70, or Grade 80 alloy chain.

Fractional sizes for hooks are measured in English units such as inches (in) or metric units such as centimeters (cm). Common English sizes for hooks include: 1/4, 3/4, 3/8, 5/8, 5/16, and 1/2 inches. Common metric sizes for hooks vary by manufacturer, distributor, or supplier.

Hook manufacturers indicate whether their products are designed for overhead lifting and other specialized applications.

Hook suppliers also indicate whether or not the ultimate strength of a hook equals 4 times the working load limit of the chain, in accordance with National Association of Chain Manufacturers (NACM) specifications.

Ultimate strength is the tensile strength, per unit of surface area, at which an eye hook, clevis hook, grab hook, shank hook, or S hook will fracture or continue to deform under a decreasing load.

Working load limit is the maximum load that a component is designed to support.

NEVER EXCEEDING THE WORKING LOAD LIMITED(WLL)

RATED CAPACITY: Also known as “assembly capacity” or “break strength” is the minimum load a complete assembly can withstand before failure in a laboratory pull test when the product is NEW.
WORKING LOAD LIMIT:

This is the term used throughout the catalog. There are, however, other terms used in the industry which are interchangeable with the term Working Load Limit. These are: WLL, SWL, Safe Working Load, Rated Load Value, Resulting Safe Working Load, and Rated Capacity.

The Working Load Limit is the maximum load which should ever be applied to a product, even when the product is new and when the load is uniformly applied – straight line pull only. Avoid side loading. All catalog ratings are based upon usual environmental conditions and consideration must be given to unusual conditions such as extreme high or low temperatures, chemical solutions or vapors, prolonged immersion in salt water, etc. Such conditions or high-risk applications may necessitate reducing the Working Load Limit.

The maximum load weight a tie-down should be subjected to during normal use. To assist in making the proper tie-down choice the Federal D.O.T. requires the W.L.L. to be 1/3 of the Rated Capacity.

Never exceed the Working Load Limit!

BREAKING LOAD: Same meaning as rated capacity.

Do not use breaking strength as a criterion for service or design purposes. Refer to the Working Load Limit instead.

Breaking Strength is the average force at which the product, in the condition it would leave the factory, has been found by representative testing to break, when a constantly increasing force is applied in direct line to the product at a uniform rate of speed on a standard pull testing machine. Proof testing to twice the Working Load Limit does not apply to hand-spliced slings.

Remember: Breaking Strengths, when published, were obtained under controlled laboratory conditions. Listing of the Breaking Strength does not mean the Working Load Limit should ever be exceeded.

During use the fitting assemly to the chain and steel wire rope, please take it in mind:

Components must match. Make certain that components such as hooks, links or shackles, etc. used with wire rope (or chain or cordage) are of suitable material size and strength to provide adequate safety protection. Attachments must be properly installed and must have a Working Load Limit at least equal to the product with which they are used.

Remember: Any chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

Nobody knows what about the round steel material what price will be.

 but after loosed the wire, all of the pin mixed together, the blue pin looks very ugly.

we can’t control the wheather but we can choose the way how to paint the pin or coat the pin, we can use the powder coating to get a better finishing.

For the finishing after coated, i will stick the pictures during the following days.
